In the third episode of our podcast “Maßstab Mensch”, on April 7, 2025, Caspar Schmitz-Morkramer spoke with “the most influential figure in architecture in Saudi Arabia” (RIBA): Dr. Sumayah Al-Solaiman. She is one of the first women to study architecture in Saudi Arabia. Since its inception in 2020, she has been CEO of the ADC, the Saudi Arabian Architecture and Design Commission in Riyadh. The conversation focuses, among other things, on the sometimes breathtaking speed and scale of urban and social transformation in Saudi Arabia. Can “we,” the Germans, the Europeans, learn from this?
